Meet our beautiful Advisory Board...
Acacia has been working in and alongside schools and educational programmes for youth since she was a teenager. Originally from the US, she moved to NZ to complete a Masters and PhD in Indigenous and Pacific Studies. She has worked in experiential education programmes and interventions and as a programme evaluator. She is also passionate about mentoring programmes for at-risk youth, particularly young women and currently works as the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Manager for The Design and Creative Technology Faculty at AUT.
Maria is of Samoan/Chinese descent and is unapologetically PASSIONATE about youth entrepreneurship, having spent several years promoting and mentoring through the Young Enterprise programme. Various roles in diverse industries from telecom, IT, hospitality, travel and real estate brings an electric background to share especially through her facilitation and business mentoring roles. Passion for her Pacific roots is also reflected in the community work with the Pacifica Mamas Arts & Cultural Trust where again youth and culture are the flavours.
Rachel was born and raised in small town NZ and moved to South Auckland at 15. She found her enthusiasm for education, empowerment and the giving sector after a career in hospitality and pursuing a Bachelor of Business where her love for equality and diversity shone through. Her belief in kindness and curiosity underpins a drive to create positive change, including founding the We Love Phil (anthropy) network. Rachel also shares the Board's passion for equality and great kai!
